ABOUT ME
Family
I am the oldest kid of a family of 5. Being a big brother, I always take the lead to try out new things and look out for my 2 sisters. I enjoy every family moments together. We often go on trips, hiking, sight-seeing and skiing trips and we share an intimate relationship. The family traditions I treasure the most is our weekly get together dinner with my grandparents and all the cousins. We always have lots of fun!
School
I am studying G8 in Diocesan Boys' School. It is a straight through school which I joined since Primary. Over the last 7-8 years, I had not only advanced academically, I also learnt to give back to the school and the community around me. Being a multi-instrumentalist, I have been taking part in several Schools interflow of music and Annual School Music Festivals. We were champions in Symphony and String Orchestra Performance for many years. I am also an active member of the School Mathematics team. I often received the chance to represent the school for Math Olympia competitions both locally and overseas.
Interests & Hobbies
I love playing the piano and the viola in my free time. I started learning viola when I was 7 as I craved to join the orchestra to interact and learn from other musicians. I also wanted to challenge myself as the viola has a different clef from the piano and it would be really difficult to read. I like playing pop songs on the piano and classical music on the viola as it makes me feel relaxed. When I want to be more active, I play basketball and badminton with my friends. Not only so, I find myself spending time learning magic and Rubik's cube online. It's very fascinating when I manage to fool my friends and family with my tricks. However, it's challenging in a very different way from schoolwork and requires a lot of hands-on practice, I really enjoy testing my own limits.
Challenge
Since I was 3, I have been suffering from severe eczema. My debilitating skin conditions made me sleepless and my whole body was red with scratches. Seeing my sisters going to family trips and my friends eating ice-cream, it had been very tough for me to cope with this. However, under the influence of my grandfather and determination, I gradually grew out of it. Thought this gruelling process, I learnt to be persistent and take on challenges head on.
